The Cost Center

See what your stack costs, where tools overlap, when contracts renew, and how any two tools compare, on the Spend surface.

The Cost Center is where your tool stack and contracts turn into money you can act on. It is the Spend surface in the Stack group. The numbers come from the same engine that powers the rest of Pytheus, so they match what you see elsewhere.

The decision bar

Three cards at the top answer the questions a budget owner asks first: total recorded annual spend, how much of that is modeled as redundant, and when your next contract decision is due. Once Pytheus has recorded a few daily snapshots, the spend and redundant cards also show a small trend line and the change since the last period.

Overview

The Overview is the short answer: what is worth looking at and why, in plain language, leading with the tools and renewals most worth your attention.

Overlap

Overlap is the most valuable thing the Cost Center knows, and it has its own explorer with linked views over one set of filters: a Map of your whole stack, a Venn focused on two or three tools, a precise Matrix grid, and an accessible List. Filter by domain, capability, tool, or minimum spend, then pick two tools to compare. See Overspend and overlap insights.

Spend, Renewals, and Compare

The Spend tab breaks recorded spend down by domain and vendor. See Spend allocation. The Renewals tab is a timeline of what is coming due, with the notice deadline shown separately from the renewal date. See Renewal tracking. Compare puts tools side by side on annual spend, term, renewal date, notice deadline, and shared capabilities.

Pytheus labels overlap as modeled redundant spend worth investigating, never as a guaranteed saving or advice to cancel a tool. Redundancy is sometimes deliberate, such as double-covering a compliance-required capability. Cost never changes your Pytheus Score; scoring stays driven by capabilities and CAMP priority.

For how the total is built and attributed, see Annual spend and attribution.
