Score distribution

The Pytheus Index becomes available to your organization once your cohort has enough participants for the comparison to be anonymous. Until then the surface may not appear in your dock. Your Pytheus contact can tell you where your cohort stands.

The score distribution view shows where your Pytheus Score sits inside your peer cohort. It turns a single number into a position: are you mid-pack, ahead, or behind, and by how much.

What it shows

• Your percentile. Where your score falls within the cohort, derived from the cohort's published quantiles.

• Cohort median and quartiles. The middle of the pack and the 25th and 75th percentiles, so you can see the spread.

• A peer distribution. The shape of the cohort, so you can tell a tight cluster from a wide range.

• Per-domain lead and lag. Your standing domain by domain, so a strong overall position does not hide a weak area.

• Your movement. How your own score has moved over a trailing window, shown against the cohort median.

How to read it

A percentile is context, not a target. Sitting at the median of a mature cohort is a very different thing from sitting at the median of a weak one. Read your position together with your own targets: the Index tells you where you stand relative to peers, while your capability gaps tell you where you stand against your own plan.

Your improvement velocity is measured over a trailing window rather than against the single most recent snapshot, so a routine recompute cannot wipe out the trend.
